GH

General Hospital was SO GOOD this week!!
-Elizabeth had her baby.
-Lisa's slowly becoming psycho.
-Lulu randomly ends up in L.A.
-Shirley dies.
-Warren Bower's true colors come out and he shoots up the hospital.
-Franco dies...but I'm sure he's not really dead.

A lot was going on in GH, which is cool. I feel like they're rarely in the hospital.

I started watching the show in late 2009. I had Twilight on my brain, and whenever I read/heard,

Bella: How old are you?
Edward: 17.
Bella: How long have you been 17?
Edward: A while.

it reminded me of Tuck Everlasting.

Winnie: How old are you?
Jesse: You really want to know?
Winnie: Yes.
Jesse: 104.
Winnie: I'm serious.
Jesse: So am I! Let's just call it 17.
I read the book in middle school, and I loved the movie. I thought Jonathan Jackson was so cute! So then I wondered what happened to him. IMDB said he was on General Hospital. I would turn to the soap opera once in a while to catch a glimpse of Jonathan. Then, I got sucked into the story lines, especially Liz and Lucky, L&L2.

P.S. Here's another simiarity:

Eclipse

My countdown to The Twilight Saga Eclipse:

1/7 - read leaked draft of script [Oh, Jackson. Tsk tsk.]

6/21 - 6/25 - Listen to Eclipse audiobook (via YouTube) while at work. Yes, I was too lazy to re-read the book.

6/26 - Partial Lunar Eclipse! It peaked around 3:40am. Lucky me, the moon was visible from my front door. So, I didn't have to go outside in the cold to witness this event.

6/27 - Bella's truck photo op at Universal Studios Hollywood Citywalk. I expected a lot of people lining up for this. There wasn't, just a lot of people in and out.

6/28 - Buy movie tickets. Yes, I seriously lagged it. They said it was sold out. They think they're funny. Ha. My movie theatre used thermal receipt paper instead of real ticket paper.

6/29 - reread script

6/30 - 12:01am showing, baby!
I soon find out the number of Team Edward fans in my auditorium is very small. Team Jacob was everywhere, and they were loud.

I have to admit, there weren't any surprises for me. I only have myself to blame, having read the book and the script. New Moon surprised me because the book is my least favorite, and I had low expectations.. especially after the first film. Eclipse is my second favorite book in the series, and after watching New Moon, I had expecations for this film.

Eclipse wasn't as true to the book as New Moon, which is understandable. The action sequences were really good. They sped up the plot, minimizing the involvement and significance of Bella's HUMAN world.

The training sequence is the baseball game of the third film. You have to love the Cullens!
How cute are Alice and Jasper? How HOT is my husband, Jackson Rathbone?! ^_^ When he says "Ma,am," my heart just melts! I'm really glad Major Jasper Whitlock's history made it into the film. He played a bigger role in the film than I expected. His posture was so good! Jasper- the Southern Gentleman trained for combat.

Xaiver Samuel is HOT. Yay for aussies! Bryce was good as Victoria. I really didn't mind. She's just not as fierce looking as Rachelle was.

The engagement scene was really cute! I got really excited heaing "Bella's Lullaby" in the background. Just say yes, Bella! The screaming from the audience took away from the intimacy, lol.

After the tent scene with Jacob and Edward, how can you not be Team Edward!? He's so awesome. Jacob's an immature brat. I think the films and Taylor Lautner portray Jacob Black to be better than he really is. I could rant more about Jake, but why waste my time? Team Edward. Period.

Overall, I think Eclipse is better than Twilight and New Moon (films). And if they wanted to not make Breaking Dawn, that would have been OK. You get a sense of happy ever after with Bella and Edward at the end of this movie. I don't care about Jake, though I expected a tag after the credits of him running away like in the book. No go.

They made $30 million in midnight showings, beating the record set by New Moon in November AND it's a holiday weekend. Oh my!

Short Second Life

I am a bit peeved that Stephenie Meyer wrote and published this novella before finishing Midnight Sun. I really want her to finish that! After reading The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, I know the wait for Midnight Sun will definitely be worth it!

I, of course, have read Eclipse. I knew Bree's ultimate fate.

I liked Bree. After reading her story, I was really hoping the ending I knew would change, for Bree's sake. I wanted it to be different, or perhaps, I wanted there to be more than what I saw in Eclipse.

But no. I finished the novella with sadness.

NEW MOON

Initial reaction: EEEEP! SO GOOD!

I'm listening to "Twilight" by Travis Garland as I write this blog. It's super cute.

First of all, New Moon ranks 4th in the series for me. The absence of Edward and the annoying-ness of Bella made it difficult for me to read the book.

I didn't obsess over this film as I had over Twilight. But I enjoyed New Moon WAY MORE. It could be due to the fact that I hold the book to a lower standard.

New Moon was a very good adaptation! They kept most of the stuff in the book, and I'm sure because I read the book on Wednesday.

Taylor Lautner is Jacob Black.

The werewolves were VERY nice to look at. =]

My husband, Jackson Rathbone/Jasper Cullen, got an extra scene!

I always got mad at Edward for freaking leaving. But when he apologizes in the movie, I totally forgive him!!

I love the ending.

Lame moments:
1. Alice's vision - did they have to wear those clothes and run in slow motion?
2. Jacob called Bella "loca"

Things that were better in Twilight:
Jasper's hair
the soundtrack

New Moon had a $50 million budget this time.
It made $26 million in Friday midnight showings and holds the top record.
$140 million weekend total. 3rd highest overall.

I'm so proud! Eclipse better be the BOMB.

point of award show performances is to bring all of the artists to one stage. so i don't really like it when they're in separate venues or whatever. you never know if it's really live or not.

8:52 lady gaga just started BLEEDING. whoaaaaa. dude. people can talk their ish or whatever, but you cannot deny this girl's talent. TCA09

I liked the opening. Yes Joe, you are cute.
Jonas Brothers opened with Much Better. Last year, Miley opened up with 7 Things. Next year, Taylor can open with Forever and Always, or someone else can open with a song about a celebrity ex.
But I love that it felt like a true Jonas performance because all of the audience shots were of fans, not celebrities.

No more Do Something award on the show? Lame. That was at least one point of substance to look foward to.

Seriously? A Twitter award? At least Ellen won and was funny.

You can tell who the winners are because they're in attendance. So, the presentation is purely for publicity purposes.

Sean Kingston with Quest Crew in the background! I adore Miley's new song. But the trailer and the pole? What are you trying to come off as, girl? You're still only 16.

I read about Dane Cook's joke about Vanessa Hudgens. Comedy.

DARE THE JONAS BROTHERS:
I was in shock as they cut Joe's hair. It was a wig or something right? His hair was still normal at the concert.
Kevin's tatoo. Cool, but totally washable.
Nick had to hug girls. Oh, no. How could he bear it?
I didn't even realize the blonde was Kim Kardashian.
I liked George Lopez's dare: wear baggy clothes.

Saw Kevin McHale with the cast of Glee. Oh, NLT, how I miss thee.

Ugh. Britney.

JB won 5! +1 for little Frankie.

Twilight won 11 out of 12!
& Jackson Rathbone was there!!!!
The entire cast was so lovely on stage.
But hello!!!!!!!!! Fox edited their acceptance speech. Something was cut off.

The show ended with Jonas Brothers performing World War III.

It was a good production this year =]

Hot Topic Twilight Tour

So it's ironic again: November 18 was the date of the American Music Awards, and now it's the date of the Twilight Hot Topic Meet and Greet.

I went with Mere, Christina, and their friend, Waldo. Meredith and I both love Jackson Rathbone. Last Thursday, I drove like a maniac after class Hollywood and Highland just to buy the tour tee for my M&G wristband.

Tuesday, we got to Hollywood & Highland just as Paramore was to perform. There was a lot of screaming. E! News was interview Taylor Lautner on Level 3. And then, to my surprise, Kristen Stewart and Nikki Reed introduced Paramore. They performed 4 songs. I knew 75% of them. Because we weren't early, we were in the back of the crowd for their performance.

When their set ended, we decided to go find the M&G line. Luckily a Hot Topic staff member informed us the cast would be doing a Q&A on stage. Those with Paramore M&Gs were told to line up. Soon, everyone else was moving out of the area. So, we cruised our way toward the front of the crowd. We were almost there when another staff member announced the Q&A on the microphone. Suddenly, everyone stopped moving.

As we waited for the Q&A, Meredith pretended to be Alice as she did my makeup. Finally, it was time for the cast to come out. I was really excited that Ashley Greene was there too! I got to see all of the Cullens and Jacob.

They started moving us out for our meet and greet. We weren't in a hurry. Wristbands were guaranteed in, so we waited for the line to calm down. We figured it was better to be among the last.

The line was moving pretty damn fast. The concert area had cleared out quickly. Finally, it was our turn. I then saw why the line moved so fast. They were only relocating us, and the line wrapped around the block.

Meredith made a "free hugs" sign.

We finally made it upstairs. The staff started hounding the rules on us. NO personalized posters. NO personal items. NO gifts. NO touching the actors. Basically, get in and out as QUICKLY as possible.

As we entered the store, I saw how a staff member shoved the posters in front of the actors so quickly. The actors were just signing them, not even looking up. I didn't wait this long for nothing! What do I do? Talk to them! I commented on the rapidness of the Hot Topic staff. Kellan looked up. "Me?" he asked. I said, "No, the Hot Topic Guy. Kellan, you're slow." I think Ashley smiled, but I don't quite remember looking at her because Jackson was next!

I was so excited to see him! I told him I was at Spoilers. "Cool!" he said. The rest of the cast looked up too. Jackson already signed my poster, but I asked him to sign my Spoilers lanyard too. He did, and I was so giddy. I screamed, "I HEART YOU!" He smiled.

Nikki was smiling at me too. I felt I had to address her insecurity about being Rosalie. I told her that she was great and shouldn't ever think otherwise. She smiled, said thank you, and kind of held out her hand. I touched it. Taylor looked at me, wanting to shake my hand? I don't remember if I did, lol. Team Edward. Cough.

I think all of that happened in 15 seconds. Once I finished, the staff was like "All right! Thank you! Goodnight!" They said it in a tone that made me realize I broke half of the rules.
We waited with a small crowd for the event to end. All of a sudden, a camera crew came out to film the crowd. Everyone cheered. The crowd and camera were to my left. Out of the corner of my RIGHT eye, I saw the cast leaving through the other door. Haha, those stealthy vampires.

In my head, I was screaming "OMG THERE THEY ARE!" Luckily, my mouth remained silent. We ran down stairs to follow them. They came out of the elevator. We called Jackson, he smiled, and security sent us away. They left through a door.

We RAN to any and everywhere the door might have led, but we were not successful. As crazy and stupid chasing after them was, it was a lot of fun.

We all went to the Rock Band store after and played for a while.

MTV Spoilers

So it's ironic: November 7 last year is when I attended my first JB concert. Now, it's when I attended my first Twilight event.

VFC took over my August. September has not totally been TWILIGHT.
Today, I got to go to the MTV taping of Spoilers-- apparently a new show. How did this happen? It started with a contest on Twilight Tuesday. I remember almost getting into a car accident when I got the phone call from MTV.
Anyway, the show featured Twilight, and the WHOLE cast was there! It was super duper. I don't know how it happened, but Liz and I were in the third row, next to the aisle.

Forget Robert Pattinson. Lol, okay, don't forget him. He's cuter as Edward and Cedric. But omg, JACKSON RATHBONE aka Jasper Cullen/Hale/Whitlock. He is sooooo hot in person! When he left the first time, I got up and asked for a hug, and I got one =D

When he came out for the Q&A, he answered that music was what kept his spirit up on set. From my seat, I yelled, "What music?" He then looks at ME and answers the question. I was so overwhelmed. I didn't expect him to hear me or actually answer. To top it off, all of this was captured on video.

Kellan Lutz is cool too.

Larry Carroll introduced the cast + Catherine, the director. They showed about 20 minutes of clips from the movie. I had already seen most of them.

After, we went to the back of the building in hopes of meeting the cast. Jackson, Taylor, and Ashley were there. Jackson had the biggest crowd, but I got to meet Ashley and Taylor. Taylor's cologne smelled really good.
Ashley Greene Taylor Lautner
It was such a great night, and an especially AMAZING first event.

TWILIGHT!!! <333>
