HSM on ICE

Grace's birthday present to me was tickets to see High School Musical: The Ice Tour. It was surprisingly a lot of fun!

There was a red carpet set up outside, but we didn't have time to check it out. When we entered Staples Center, they gave Julia a plastic megaphone because she was young. I almost got one... but they realized I was old >.< . Kenny Ortega was there to introduce the show. The Staples Center website listed the show as SOLD OUT. The 300-level seats weren't used.

The first act is the first HSM. The second act is HSM2. The little kids next to us thought the show was over at intermission. When they found out there was more, they kept screaming, "WE'RE GONNA WATCH HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2!!!" It was so cute.

The ice skating was really cool. It isn't flawless. I saw a bunch of people fall, but I give them props.

Snacks came with fun souvenirs: Cotton candy + Ryan Evans hat & Lemonade + Souvenir cup.

So You Think You Can Dance

Grace and I loved So You Think You Can Dance so much last season. We watched it every week and voted for Benji until the phone lines cut out. I requested audience tickets then, but only got approved now for season 3. We got to go see the Top 18 perform.

We walked to Subway while Quintos waited in line. He called us when Benji arrived, and we ran back. We left our cameras in the car because they weren't allowed inside. We took a picture with Grace's phone. He told us to vote for his sister, Lacey.

I wasn't familiar with the new contestants. I recognized Lacey and Hok. We decided we really like Dominic because he gave us attention, so we would vote for him.

We were standing right in front, stage left. You can see us on TV, if you look.

Wicked

It seemed like Wicked was the latest buzz around school. I bought the soundtrack for Grace and the book for myself.

This was the first time we dealt with eBay.

We watched the Wizard of Oz before we left.

Let me just say: it's absolutely magical! Theatre is so cool! The atmosphere and the fact that they performed everything live is so great.

Libby Chessler (Jenna Leigh Green) played Nessarose. Apparently, Grace told me that, but I just don't listen (or hear) sometimes.

I simply adored one of the choir, Alexander Selma. He's my Broadway Charles Klapow. At stage door, I was happy to meet the witches and lead characters, but I was stoked when I got to see Alex.

FUTURESEX/LOVESHOW

Last night was so amazing. It was something I have waited forever to actually see & experience. That's right... JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE... LIVE in concert at the Staples Center.

OH

MY

GOSH.

I absolutely love him. He is so amazing. In fact, that's what I texted to "him," or rather the Verizon screen in the arena.

Cristina and I got the Subway dinner for 2 special. Italian Herb and Cheese bread = mmmmmm.

Verizon had a DDR type game to win t-shirts. Grace and Cristina played, but they didn't score high enough. I didn't even try.

As we were in line, we took a picture for the FanFire page on JT's website with our beautiful signs. I hid my camera in my boots. Security was preoccupied telling us signs weren't allowed, and they didn't notice the flashing lights through the metal detector. I was in, I had my camera, I rocked. Grace hid her camera in MY purse, but they didn't even check. So we were both in.

Since we were one of the first people in the arena, they displayed our text messages on screen for a while.

8`o clock came and Pink went on. She's got those hot acrobatic skills. We took her set time to buy our JT merchandise. We tried seat hopping, but the real ticket holders kept showing up.

Gosh! It sounded so good! I always figured taped concerts on TV and DVD were just fine. I never knew how much more amazing it was live. It was a center stage, but he faced my side most of the time. Justin is so smooth and fly and HOT. He sang every song off of the new album + the favorites from Justified + "Gone" by *NSYNC!!!!!! I was so happy! I was like awww I love that. I love him. I love them!

random highlights:

~he took a shot and toasted to Los Angeles.

~he kept saying "it's so good to be home"

~he's hot

~he played piano, guitar, and that keyboard guitar thing

~high tech screens & video techniques

~he smiled

~the party was bumpin on "Seniorita." I don't know what I'm thinkin bout.. really leaving with you!

~he flipped us off at the end of what goes around comes around

~he's hot

~he humped that dancer. damn her. lol.

~he laughed

~crazy ass moves. & a little beat boxing

~club bangin intermission w/ Timbaland

~so much energy from the crowd. and everyone sings along.

~sexy back came on too quickly.

~he's hot.

~encore. in his sweatpants & t-shirt

I got each song on video. It's low quality, and you can hear me screaming, but it's MINE. I was there. I made it. The girls bagged on me for recording all night, but I don't care. I have these memories forever. I react the same as in the video whenever I watch them.

Justin Timberlake. He was always my favorite, my first love.

But seriously, AMAZING. Yes, I'm vocabulary-limited, but it says it all.

Best first concert EVER!

Bonjour

The first official entry in this blog is dated 7/21/09. Since then, I've complied past entries from my other blogs, so that everything is in one place.

I created this blog in addition to a scrapbook for all my Concert Life memories.

The idea started at work. We had so many slightly used colored papers. It seemed like such a waste to just recycle or dispose of them, so why not reuse?

I decided to print out my Jonas Brothers concert photos. I don't have pictures of everytyhing; my computers have crashed in the past, and some have been lost.

It seemed clear a physical album was necessary to preserve this new chapter in my life.

I enjoyed creating the Jonas Brothers pages, and decided to make pages for all the other concerts and events I attended. Soon, there were many more colors in my scrapbook:
Jonas Brothers - blue
Wicked - green
Twilight - red
V Factory - lavender
ABDC - purple
etc. etc.

It makes me happy to see so many pages.

Now a days, I'm adding pages a slower pace, but I hope to continue adding pages for a long time.

Oh, and the blog name?
Amusant means fun in French.
Jamz is a nickname.
